#LashTipTueday: Cleaning Your Lashes 101

To make sure you get the longest wear from your lashes , they HAVE to stay clean . Natural oils, dead skin, make up, sweat and etc. can sit/coat your extensions causing premature fallout , some irritation , and etc.

Things to avoid during the first 48 hrs:

-Getting them wet

-Wearing makeup (especially eye makeup)

-Working out (pretty much any activity that will cause you to sweat)

-Being in steam ( HOT showers, hot yoga, etc.)

-Oily products

*Avoid any product or cleanser containing glycols, organic solvents,or high concentrates of alcohol because they can potentially break down the adhesive and shorten the life span of your lashes.

After the first 48 hrs , You are going to start maintaining your lashes by washing them twice a day using an oil-free extension safe cleanser (When you first wake up and right before you go to bed & before and after any activity that caused you to sweat/ your body to heat up) and keeping them brushed often.

How To Wash Your Lashes

1. Start by get the eye area wet (brow bone to check bone and everything in-between) . Not dripping wet , just a little moist.

2. Squirt a pump of foaming cleanser into your hand or cleansing brush (one pump for each eye) and apply directly it to the eyelash extensions. Do downward strokes to get to the base of the lashes for a thorough cleaning .(No scrubbing!) You can do one eye at a time or both at once.

3. Rinse the foaming cleanser off your lashes ( THOROUGHLY - don't want to get any soap in your eye) and the pat your lashes dry with a towel (No scrubbing!)

4. Repeat steps1 through 3 one more time ( especially if you were makeup daily)

5. Wait about 5 minutes to let your lashes air dry a little then brush your lashes out ( being gentle going root to tip). And just brush them throughout the day to keep them looking great!

Upkeep isn't hard , you just have to actually do it .
